This page tells you what Rinta actually collects, why, how long it is kept, and how you can erase it yourself. It is written to be read, not just signed — if any sentence is unclear, tell us: ambiguity is a defect, not a protection.
The four principles behind everything below
- We collect the minimum a feature needs — and we do not ask for anything no feature requires.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your data — not today and not under any future business model.
- No ads and no tracking — we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build an advertising profile about you.
- Your data is yours — you can view, correct and erase all of it from inside the app without contacting us.
1. What we collect — and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your university email | To confirm you are a student at your university, and to sign you in with a code sent to it. |
| What you enter yourself — your name, major, level, courses, and your mobile number and branch if you add them | So Rinta shows your own day and courses, not someone else's. |
| Your content in the app — your schedule, tasks, notes, and your questions in "Ask" | This is the service itself; without it there is nothing to show. |
| Files you upload | So you can open them from any device, and so your academic information can be extracted from them and shown to you. |
| A photo you choose from the camera or album | When you add it to your own course materials — we do not read or browse your album. |
| Account and device identifiers | To keep your session secure and link your data to you alone. |
| Pseudonymous usage events — "app opened", "setup completed", with the app version and operating system | To learn what actually helps students. They never include the content of your files or questions. |
| Crash reports | To fix what breaks. Configured not to carry your identity: no email, no network address, no screenshots and no screen content. |
What we do not collect — without exception
Your location · your contacts · your financial data · your health data · your browsing history outside Rinta · your microphone or camera without an action by you · and your university password — we do not ask for it, accept it or need it.
2. How we deal with your university — precisely
- We do not sign in to your university account, ask for its password, or act for you in any university system. Confirming that you are a student is done with a code sent to your university email, not a password.
- The sections and courses directory is read from the public search page on your university's website — available to any visitor without signing in, and it is not your personal data.
- We do not share your data with your university or any educational body. What you write in Rinta stays in Rinta.
3. Who processes your data
We use infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf and only on our instructions. By category they are: hosting and servers, databases and file storage, delivery of verification emails, crash monitoring, and an AI model provider to process "Ask" questions.
None of them may use your data for their own purposes, keep it after the processing purpose ends, or pass it to others. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Some of this processing takes place on servers outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Every transfer uses an encrypted connection and contractual controls that bind the processor to the same level of protection.
We do not name the providers on this page, because publishing the details of our technical infrastructure does not make you safer and widens the attack surface for us and for you. If you are a regulator that needs the named list, request it from support@rinta.app and it will be sent.
4. Our legal basis for processing
- Performing the service you asked for — your schedule cannot be shown without processing your schedule.
- Your consent — for the camera, photos and notifications; you grant it by an action of yours and can withdraw it from your device settings at any time.
- A limited legitimate interest — account security, preventing misuse, and fixing faults.
5. How long your data is kept
It is kept while your account exists, because the service itself is the continuity of your schedule and record. When you delete your account it is erased from our operational databases immediately, and any encrypted backups age out of their cycle within a limited period not exceeding 30 days.
6. Deleting your account — full erasure from inside the app
Inside Rinta: More → Account & privacy → Delete account.
It takes effect on the server as soon as you confirm, and erases everything that belongs to you across all tables without exception — your academic profile, schedule, tasks, questions, usage events and every file you uploaded. No need to contact us and no external step.
7. Your rights
At any time you may access your data from inside the app, correct it by editing your profile, schedule and tasks directly, delete all of it by deleting your account, and withdraw your consent to any permission you granted. You may also send us any request about your data at support@rinta.app, and we will reply within a reasonable time.
8. Securing your data
Every connection between your app and our servers is encrypted. Access to data is limited to those who need it to run the service. Your data is separated at the database level itself, so one account cannot reach another account's data.
No system is risk-free. If a breach affects your data, we will inform you and the competent authority as the law requires, and tell you what happened and what we did.
9. Who Rinta is for
Rinta is for university students. It is not directed at children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect their data; if we learn of such an account, we delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change something material, we will notify you inside the app before it takes effect and update the date at the top of the page. We will not apply changes retroactively to data collected under an earlier promise.
11. Who we are and how to reach us
